Lake Tahoe man pleads guilty to lewdness and sexual assault charges

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - A Round Hill, Nevada man has pleaded guilty to several charges that came as a result of a 2022 investigation into lewdness and sexual assault of minors.

Zachary Nance was 35 years old at the time of his December 2022 arrest at his McFaul Way home.

Nance pleaded guilty on October 30 to the following:

Sexual Assault Against a Child Under the Age of 16 Years of Age - a category A felony. This charge carries a penalty of imprisonment in the state prison for life with the possibility of parole, with eligibility for parole beginning when a minimum of 25 years has been served.

Lewdness with a Child Under 14 Years of Age - a category A felony. This charge carries a penalty of imprisonment in the state prison for life with the possibility of parole, with eligibility for parole beginning when a minimum of 10 years has been served

Nance is stipulating to a consecutive sentence between the two charges, and therefore facing an aggregate penalty of imprisonment in the state prison for life with the possibility of parole, with eligibility for parole beginning when a minimum of 35 years has been served.

He will be sentenced in the Ninth Judicial District Court in Douglas County on January 22, 2024, at 2 p.m. He was remanded into custody at the time of his plea and is being held without bail. During sentencing, victims will be reading their statements.

The investigation involved the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD), and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. SLTPD is still investigating its portion of the case.
