They say it's always hard to say goodbye, and that was evident Tuesday evening during the final board meeting for three of the five Lake Tahoe Unified School Board members.
After nine years on the board, Dr. Larry Green chose to not seek a third term, and Dr. Michael Doyle lost in his re-election bid. Adam Jones filled the seat of Sue Novasel for the past two years after she became a county supervisor. He chose not to run this November.
The emotional ceremony as the three board members bid their farewell. They accepted plaques and framed photos by students at South Tahoe High School. LTUSD Board President Barbara Bannar read a proclamations in honor of the two-two term board members, Doyle and Green.
The Board will swear in three new members at their December 13, 2016 meeting: Meeting: Troy Matthews, Bonnie Turnbull, and Larry Reilly. LTUSD looks forward to working collaboratively with its new Board of Trustees as the District looks to the future.
