Since winter is the time that people in South Lake Tahoe use the most energy. Liberty Utilities wants to help residents save 10-25% on their energy bills with some simple and no-cost steps.
1) Set your thermostat to 68 degrees when home, and then back to 55-68 degrees when the home is unoccupied.
2) Open window coverings on the sunny side of your home to take advantage of free heat from the sun.
3) Close foundation vents.
4) Turn off lights and appliances when not in use, including your computer.
5) Only use your dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer with full loads. Using them in the late evening helps reduce demand during winter peak times.
6) Vacuum your refrigerator coils, underneath and in the back.
