Letter: Family Resource Center asks community for assistance due to COVID-19 impacts

The South Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center is busy assisting our community during these incredibly difficult COVID-19 times. This Holiday Season many members of our community are struggling with basic necessities to survive. So many members of our community work in the service industry in jobs such as; servers, waiters, bussers, housekeepers, maintenance personnel etc. Those industries have been impacted dramatically, especially with the updated governmental restrictions on in-door dining in California. With the new closure of restaurants and business the lack of working hours is putting stress on workers, who are not working enough hours to support themselves and their family.
The Latino community has been disproportionately impacted in the number of active COVID-19 cases and individuals in quarantine. Our community is struggling to make ends meet. We are currently asking for financial donations to purchase food cards to distribute to our community. You can call the office at (530) 542.0740 to arrange to drop off any food cards, mail a check to: Family Resource Center, 3501 Spruce, Suite “B”, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 or go to our website to donate using PayPal. www.tahoefrc.org
We appreciate the generous spirit of our community in these difficult times. Please be safe and well.
Sincerely
Bill Martinez
Executive Director
