Rain drenched the South Shore of Lake Tahoe this week, but the storms that brought rain to lake level brought much needed snow to the upper elevations.
Heavenly Mountain Resort is reporting 14" of fresh snow in the last week with 3" last night.
Kirkwwod reports 5" of snow Wednesday night and 15" in the last seven days.
Sierra at Tahoe had 6" of snow in the last 24 hours with 18" falling during the latest storm.
Northstar had much more snow than the resorts to the South. They had 6" overnight with 31" of snow falling over last week.
The National Weather service's precipitation map shown here shows a strong five day total of rain for lake level. Many parts of Northern California received more rain this week than in all of 2013.
