A woman walking her dog on Ponderosa Drive was injured after being hit by a car on Thursday, December 17.
Tahoe-Douglas Fire and Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 4:30 p.m. accident where they found Madeline Cass under a Toyota pickup truck that was driven by Charles Schofield.
DCSO Sgt. Pat Brooks said that Schofield’s attention was taken off the road as he was wiping fog from the inner windshield of his truck as he was travelling at a speed of approximately 5 miles per hour. He stopped his vehicle when he heard he had struck something in the middle of the road. When he exited his vehicle he found Cass under his vehicle.
Cass was transported to Barton Hospital with unspecified injuries and her condition is unknown at this time.
