Site ranks Heavenly among most popular resorts in North America

Skireports.com came out with a ranking today based on Facebook fans and Heavenly Mountain Resort at Lake Tahoe, which has 93,887 Facebook followers, ranked second among the most popular resorts in North America. Northstar ranked eighth in the field and Squaw Valley, 14th. Mammoth Mountain was listed as the first choice.
According to the site, several factors are considered when ranking the mountain. "From snow, to nightlife, to size, each mountain is a unique experience making it difficult to compare one versus the other. The number of Facebook fans is just one of many gauges to use in considering the popularity of a mountain," the site said. "Kapowder.com's most popular resorts is based on the number of Facebook fans that a mountain has. It shows how many people have decided to make the mountains voice part of its daily feed."
