The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) is asking for the public’s assistance with an attempted theft at the Walmart located in the Topsy Shopping Center on December 23.
At approximately 9:42 a.m. an unidentified man entered the store at 3770 US Highway 395 and selected 23 items, then proceeded to the self-checkout lanes. He scanned ten of the cheapest items, paid for them with cash, then attempted to leave the store when he was stopped by security.
The man fled without his items and left in what looks like a white Acura. He drove off towards the highway.
Please contact DCSO Investigator Brandon Williamson if you have any information regarding the identity of the subject in the photographs above. Call 775-782-9927 and reference case number 18SO40616.
