The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a person of interest in an attempted theft on August 9 at 1:50 a.m.
A silver Dodge pick-up truck with two men inside drove into the parking lot of the Gardnerville Walmart. The passenger was dropped and then the driver took the truck around the building and parked by the emergency exit doors.
The male who entered the store used an empty shopping cart and loaded two 48-inch LED HD televisions into the cart and ran to the emergency exit. As he pushed through the doors the alarm sounded. He then got into the silver Dodge pick-up and left, leaving the two televisions behind at 2:01 am.
The alleged suspect is described as male, approximately 30-years-old, 6-feet tall, 250-280 pounds, short black hair and a full beard.
A reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the suspect. Your identity is not needed and you will remain anonymous. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call DCSO Dispatch at (775) 782-5126 or Douglas County Secret Witness at: 775-78-CRIME (775-782-7463) or DCSO Investigator Nate Almeida at (775)782-9909.
