Almost local "Joyzu" hits the main stage at SnowGlobe Sunday

It won't be a far drive for friends and family of Joyzu when they head to South Lake Tahoe on New Year's Eve to watch the El Dorado Hills pair perform on the main state at SnowGlobe.

Carson Willms and Quinton Pope started playing music together while at Oakridge High, and continued their hobby when they both went away to college...Willms to Sacramento State and Pope to University of Colorado. That hobby is now their passion, and their business, as they release more songs and gather more fans of their unique genre.

Willms and Pope have always called Lake Tahoe part of their stomping grounds and are returning to the place that started it all, the annual electronic dance music (EDM) festival, SnowGlobe.

“SnowGlobe gives us the opportunity to play with big acts,” said Willms. “Tahoe is our back yard, a beautiful place and an awesome place to be.”

While specializing in EDM, Joyzu (pronounced joy zoo) doesn’t want to get stuck in any one genre and says concert goers can expect unique and diverse music in their 45-50 song set Sunday.

They will have Canadian singer Olivia Reid on stage with them, someone who they’ve partnered with before when they released the songs “Hear You Say It” and “Like a Melody.”

The group is currently under contract with Armada Music out of the Netherlands with whom Joyzu just released the song “Famous” with Lilianna Wilde.

“Not only has the duo continued to show there [sic] masterful talents for music and production, their stage presence is without a doubt unmatched. They have shared the stage with industry leading DJ / Producers including AC Slater, Zeds Dead, Hucci, The Ninetys, Herobust, Boombox Cartel, Liquid Stranger, Big Wild, Ott., Krewella, NERO, JayKode, Jauz, Brillz, and Bad Royale just to name a few.,” says Armanda Music on Joyzu. “Joyzu's music isn’t limited to one genre of dance music; they have a very broad sound production that will make every listener come back wanting more.”

Willms and Pope are already on the South Shore with their parents and friends, ready to enjoy the area as they rehearse and get ready to ring in the new year with SnowGlobe’s thousands of concert goers.

As 2018 begins they'll be hitting the road on tour.
