With a projected 30,000 people at SnowGlobe and another 30,000 at Stateline, local police and sheriff's officers will have their hands full.
70 South Lake Tahoe Police officers, El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies and local CHP officers will be on duty Tuesday in order to ensure all goes smoothly.
Sergeant Josh Adler of SLTPD said they are expecting a smooth New Years celebration due to the previously large group at Stateline being split up with SnowGlobe and the family New Year's Eve event at Heavenly Village. Adler said that there were just a handful of arrests last year.
SnowGlobe
During the first night of SnowGlobe there were no arrests, one fight that broke up before the police were involved and two situations where minors tried to buy alcohol with fake IDs. ATF personnel has been working with the SnowGlobe vendors to show them what the trends are in fake IDs.
