Letters: Candidate thanks her many supporters for city council

I want to thank my many, many supporters for their belief in me. Withstanding the constant barrage of incorrect information and innuendo about me printed here (in Letters to the Editor) and in other sources, the repeated vandalism of my signs, the anonymous emails at the recent city council meeting that targeted me and others has been made easier by the constant encouragement I receive from our locals who know that I am the best choice for city council.

Catch Handel's Messiah this season in the Lake Tahoe area

TOCCATA–Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus is concluding their 13th season with a holiday production of Handel's Messiah, and there are several chances around Lake Tahoe and Northern Nevada people can catch this classic.

Along with the seasonal carols the group will be performing the audience is encouraged to join in singing.

Vocal Soloists for these perfromances will include: Sopranos Joy Strotz, Maria Arrigotti, Anne Davidson and Becky Earl; Mezzo Soprano Jenna Sims; Tenors Brad Perry and Robert Bousquet; and Baritones Stuart Duke, Emzy Burroughs and Chris Nelson.

Eveyone a winner as W.E. C.A.R.E Sports visits South Lake Tahoe schools

W.E. C.A.R.E. Sports has spent the week in South Lake Tahoe, visiting each elementary school thanks to a grant awarded by the Tahoe Women's Community Fund to bring the program to Lake Tahoe Unified School District.

The Oregon-based organization helps support the physical development and social-emotional tenets for young children by teaching life skills and building self-esteem.

Every child is on an equal playing field as they are introduced to unique alternative sports in a positive non-judgmental environment where everyone wins.

The Tahoe Coalition for Homeless (TCH) made a presentation to the Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) board members Tuesday, updating them on the Warm Room, and how things have gone since opening in their new home January 1, 2018.

Letter: Annie Davidson – My Choice for LTUSD Board

I am writing this letter in support of Annie Davidson for the LTUSD Board. She is mother to two LTUSD students and knows firsthand the challenges that our school district, educators, and students face. She has no political ties that might sway her in one direction or another in regards to what is best for our community.

Clearer picture now for November's elections in South Lake Tahoe

Deadlines for candidates interested in sitting on four local boards and councils have come and gone for most of the contests, so there is now a much clearer picture on the November elections.

There are now ten people interested in sitting on the South Lake Tahoe City Council. With a deadline of 5:00 p.m. on August 17, the last of the candidates submitted their paperwork just under the wire.
