The National Football Conference champion San Francisco 49ers will play against the American Football Conference champion Kansas City Chiefs.
No matter who you are rooting for, or if you just enjoy watching the game which is known for epic halftime shows and commercials (and championship football), South Lake Tahoe and Stateline are providing parties and fun spaces to do so on Sunday.

In November, Ms. Berry received a $15,000 cash award at the Carlston Family Foundation’s 17th Annual Awards Ceremony in Mill Valley, Calif. During Tuesday's Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) board meeting, she received an additional $5,000 grant for South Lake Tahoe High School.
SnowGlobe and guests contribute 213 nights at Tahoe Warm Room; Make strides on waste reduction

SnowGlobe 2019 was able to successfully expand their sustainability program, non-profit, and charitable giving initiatives, they said in a report released Monday.
In 2017, SnowGlobe began its partnership with The Sugar Pine Foundation, planting 200 sugar pine seedlings to help restore Lake Tahoe’s sugar pine population, which now makes up less than 5 percent of the Tahoe Forest.
Caesars Entertainment announces sale of Harrah's Reno
Submitted by paula on Wed, 01/15/2020 - 8:27pmHarrah's Reno will soon be coming to an end. The gaming establishment that had its humble beginning as a bingo parlor opened by Bill Harrah in 1937 has been sold to a company that will turn it into a non-gaming mixed-use center.
On Thursday, Caesars Entertainment Corporation and VICI Properties Inc. announced in a press release they signed an agreement to sell Harrah’s Reno Hotel and Casino to an affiliate of CAI Investments for $50 million.

To help them in these efforts, Waste Free Earth is on board to create an environment of sustainability through strict guidelines for vendors and sponsors, recycling waste bins throughout the event, and daily trash pickup and sorting.

Remodeled rooms, lounge and restaurant part of $41 million in upgrades for Harveys Lake Tahoe

Besides these rooms and the new Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen on the casino floor, Harveys is also adding new balcony suites as part of over $41 million in capital projects for 2019-20.
The tower’s balcony suites, with incredible views of the lake, were also renovated last year. The upgraded guest rooms and additional projects as well as a new casino bar and lounge experience opening in 2020 are part of the new capital outlay.

Caesars Entertainment has teamed up with Ramsay once again and has transformed the old Sage Room in Harveys Lake Tahoe to be the newest home for Hell's Kitchen.
Even before the doors open, over 12,000 reservations have been made for one of 151 seats in the 3,160 square foot restaurant located on the casino floor.

Now, the popular caterer is operating out of the Tahoe Seasons Resort in South Lake Tahoe with an expanded menu.

The Christina, a 65-foot yacht that once called Lake Tahoe home, is now an iconic art car that has been cruising along the playa in the Black Rock Desert. She is returning to Lake Tahoe during "Docked at Hard Rock" November 1-2.
Flipper Manchester, a South Lake Tahoe construction company owner, was originally hired to demolish the yacht that had been dry-docked at the Tahoe Keys Marina for years.

For 27 plus years, Fox & Hound has served locals and visitors with great food and a great view of the Carson Valley. They are located near the Ridge Tahoe, Nevada-side ski lifts, Tahoe Rim Trail.

For those wondering about the old Caltrans traffic camera at the Y: it is being replaced and when received there will be a lane closure coordinated for installation.
The camera at the new roundabout in Meyers can be rotated to analyze traffic needs and will not be aimed just at the roundabout for the time being.

September 14, 2019 - 10:00am On Saturday, September 14, at 10:00 am, the Dangberg Home Ranch Celtic Faire will be the final special event of the 2019 Dangberg Summer Festival.
A celebration of the Irish, Scottish and Welsh people who helped to settle Carson Valley will offer a day filled with entertainment and activities for all ages.
The gate opens at 9:00 am with the faire beginning at 10:00 am. From opening until noon, the Silver State Highlanders will be demonstrating heavy athletics such as “tossing the caber” and “weight for distance”.

Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen coming to Lake Tahoe

The celebrated multi-Michelin star chef and television personality will be opening the third restaurant in his chain inside the historic Sage Room at Harveys Lake Tahoe. It is planned to debut in late 2019.
The Sage Room isn't going away though, it's moving upstairs to the 19 Kitchen & Bar location.
Similar to the other Hell's Kitchen restaurants, design and menu elements will be pulled directly from the long-running hit FOX reality show.

State Route 89 (Placer County): Motorists can expect intermittent short delays on State Route 89 at Sugar Pine Point State Park in Tahoma from 6:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 24 and from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, August 25 due to the Lake Tahoe Triathlon.
20th annual Markleeville Creek Day during Great Sierra River Cleanup

MARKLEEVILLE, Calif. - Alpine Watershed Group, in partnership with the Great Sierra River Cleanup, will be hosting its 20th annual Markleeville Creek Day on Saturday, September 21, 2019. This event allows for the completion of important restoration work through several projects across the Carson River watershed. Volunteers will have the opportunity to plant willows in Hope Valley, remediate head cuts in Grover Hot Springs State Park, remove invasive and noxious weeds from meadows and riparian zones, or cleanup roads as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program.

Basecamp Pizza raises $17,250 for Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation

On Monday, August 12, the popular restaurants in the Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe presented members of LTEF with a check.

El Dorado County Chief Probation Officer Brian Richart honored staff with five special days during the week, all centered around popular food items.

Kudos: Community supports growing tennis program
Submitted by paula on Tue, 07/30/2019 - 3:56pmA record 246 people participated in the 36th Tahoe Tennis Classic at Zephyr Cove Park this past weekend. The four-day annual event brought people from throughout the United States to our area for competitive and fun tennis.
The tournament is the biggest fundraiser for the Zephyr Cove Tennis Club Foundation. The nonprofit, all-volunteer organization has a contract with Douglas County to operate the six courts. Responsibilities include resurfacing the courts, managing play, and providing instruction for all ages and abilities.

Sales tax revenues increase in South Lake Tahoe and El Dorado County
Submitted by paula on Tue, 07/23/2019 - 10:45amSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The winter of 2019 was a good one for both South Lake Tahoe and El Dorado County retailers, ski resorts, restaurants and others whose businesses collect sales tax, including online retailers selling goods in the area.
The first sales tax report for 2019 has been released, with $2,580,475 in gross receipts in South Lake Tahoe during Q4/Q1 and $11,976,387 in the unincorporated areas of El Dorado County. During the same two-quarter period the year before, tax revenues were $2,390,631 and $9,925,645 respectively.
