Climate Change: Science and Solutions next TERC lecture in Incline Village

Event Date:
January 23, 2020 - 5:30pm

Weather update from UC Davis - Due to winter storm warnings, and in a effort to accommodate as many attendees as possible, TERC will be moving tomorrow's (January 16th) lecture to next week on Thursday, January 23, 2020. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you will be able to join us next week when John Henry Beyer, Ph.D., Geophysicist and retired Research Program Manager at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, explains the science behind climate change in a way that is engaging and understandable.

What is causing climate change and how severe is it? What can we do to mitigate the effects of climate change, and how do we stay motivated to follow through?

John Henry Beyer, Ph.D. explains the science behind climate change in a way that is engaging and understandable at the next lecture hosted by the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Center (TERC) on Thursday, January 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

By representing large datasets visually, explaining complex concepts in accessible language, and drawing on psychologists’ research on reactions to disturbing information, Dr. Beyer offers the public a path forward under what might otherwise feel like insurmountable challenges.

The cost is $10 when paid in advance; $12 at the door. There will be a No host bar available at 5:30 p.m. Presentation starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.

TERC is located at 291 Country Club Dr., Incline Village, Nev.
