MontBleu staff credited with saving man's life in swimming pool

One of the swimmers, a 25-year-old man from Fairfield, Calif., had been underwater for almost two-and-a-half minutes before being pulled from the water.

Planning Commission denies changes to planned cannabis microbusiness in South Lake Tahoe

On January 14, 2021, the City Planning Commission denied a request from James Street LLC to change the name of the approved operator and extend their deadline to open by six months.

The Cityhood project in 1965 was spearheaded by the South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce with all five of that first council members coming from the Chamber Board ranks. Norm served as one of the first rotating Mayors and many times thereafter. His advice was offered to the citizens who were newly elected to subsequent councils.

Even though smoke detectors have been required in new construction and in homes undergoing a remodel for decades, not all homes have working detectors. They are broken, have a dead battery, or missing completely.

● One in 10 people is stalked.

The passing of the department flag symbolizing the leadership change. The ceremony also included the pinning of Chief Lindgren whose daughter had the duty.

Bridgestone NHL Outdoors Saturday will showcase the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights on Feb. 20. Honda NHL Outdoors Sunday will feature the Philadelphia Flyers and the Boston Bruins on Feb. 21. Both games will be broadcast at 3:00 p.m. ET on NBC in the United States and on Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada.

This forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS) shows there be likely be significant travel impacts in the Sierra next week. Chances for valley snow (including down in Reno/Carson) will be increasing by midweek.

Small weather systems bring chance of snow to Lake Tahoe for last week of 2020
Submitted by paula on Sun, 12/27/2020 - 7:27pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There will be a few chances for precipitation as we wrap up 2020 and head into 2021, but at this point in time the systems on the horizon aren't looking like big snow makers.
As one system leaves Monday afternoon there will be a break in snow/rain activity on Tuesday, the next weather system is projected to arrive Wednesday evening and exit quickly by Thursday morning. While the more likely scenario favors light
snow (up to 2") for the Sierra and northeast California/far northwest Nevada it could cause some morning commute issues.

James Anthony Biller ~ 1941 - 2020

Growing up in Ventura, he surfed, sailed, played water polo for the Ventura High Cougars, and was one of the best swimmers Ventura High had ever seen, getting his varsity letter and pin as a sophomore and setting swimming records that stood for many years after he graduated in 1969. That Jim had a love of the beach, sailing, and everything that had to do with the water was obvious to everyone around him.

Of those, 11 are in El Dorado Hills, 16 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 23 in Greater Placerville, 3 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 6 in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 4 in North County, 0 in South County, 16 in Lake Tahoe region. Two of these cases are awaiting address confirmation, leaving the pending address confirmation count at 49.

As previously reported, I am stepping aside to focus on my career and raising my beautiful baby girl. I said many times while I was on the Board that every family in the District was my family, and every child in the District was my responsibility. Now that I have a child of my own, I think the parents of LTUSD will understand when I say that I need to focus on my own family for the time being.

Of those, 118 are in El Dorado Hills, 97 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 87 in Greater Placerville, 29 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 20 in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 27 in North County, 7 in South County, 76 in Lake Tahoe region. Four of these cases are awaiting address confirmation, leaving the pending address confirmation count at 49.

I put my Christmas lights up over the 4th of July and for a short while started watching Christmas movies too to try and get that feel-good feeling happening. Okay, I also did it because I wanted to watch movies where no one was wearing a mask and hugging one another without fear of being exposed. I’ve always enjoyed movies for their pure escapism and who doesn’t want to escape what we’ve been through already ya know? I also like being wrapped around a movie completely.
Tahoe Best in the Basin Award winners announced

The projects and programs each exhibit outstanding planning and execution and lead the way in environmental stewardship in the Lake Tahoe Region, according to the agency.

Of those, 27 are in El Dorado Hills, 20 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 13 in Greater Placerville, 4 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 0 in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 2 in North County, 4 in South County, 0 in Lake Tahoe region. The pending address confirmation count is 45.
One of those new cases, 11 are under the age of 18, 30 are aged 18-49, 33 are aged 50-64, and 19 aged 65 or older.

Of those, 14 are in El Dorado Hills, 2 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 39 in Greater Placerville, 15 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 15 in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 9 in North County, 4 in South County, 43 in Lake Tahoe region. 61 of the previously reported cases awaiting address confirmation have been assigned, leaving the pending address confirmation count at 45.
Agencies to host public workshop on Meeks Bay Restoration Project

The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) in coordination with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board, will host a virtual public workshop about the Meeks Bay Restoration Project from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021. The workshop will provide the background and need for the project, share proposed restoration and site improvement alternatives, describe the next steps in the environmental planning process and solicit feedback on the alternatives.
