Thank you to all who attended this fun, entertaining and worthwhile event and those that donated to enable our support of the many programs and organizations we assist. As always, all money raised is invested into schools, scholarships, community projects, youth, and services both locally and globally. (www.sitahoesierra.org) .t
Family creates "Little Library" for the Lake Tahoe Community
Submitted by paula on Mon, 11/28/2016 - 8:24pmThe South Lake Tahoe community is invited to attend the grand opening of a new, free "Little Library" on Saturday, December 3 at noon outside BioSpirit, located at 1116 Ski Run Blvd.
The Haven family, Kathy and Nick, along with their children Alexi (12), Christopher (11) and Marcus (8) created the free lending library, the first of what they hope will be many around the community.
"We are making a little library so that whoever wants a book can have a book," said Alexi. "Also, people who have extra books, they can donate them to the library. That way everyone has books!"
Local author releases new book, holding launch in Meyers

Lake Tahoe author Jennifer Quashnick will be launching her newest book "Sierra Nevada River of Lies" at Bonafide Books in Meyers on November 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Her newest book is the second one in Quashnick's Mountaingirl series which was started off by "Sierra Nevada Trail of Murder."
A description of the newest story: An offer to help someone in need leaves Rachel Winters and her friends in the killer’s sights as they slowly unravel a multi-layered scheme for profit. Meanwhile, a discovery about Luke Reed’s long-lost family threatens them both.
Nominations are in for the 2011 Blue Ribbon Awards

TahoeChamber.org would like to thank all those who took the time to nominate a business or individual for the 4th Annual Blue Ribbon Awards. Over the four years that the awards program has been in existence, community participation and support has increased annually by leaps and bounds. This year brought in a record amount of nominations, which resulted in over 100 businesses and individuals being nominated for the eight different award catagories.
