It started on November 7, 2018. Ricky Reich, a local man who has become known as "The Angel of Tahoe's Guardian," walked into the studios of KRLT-FM on Kingsbury Grade in Stateline, Nevada. He had been listening to Howie Nave's Morning Rush shown on the station and wanted to pay homage to Lisa Maloff, the Angel of Tahoe.

In this proclamation, the City extended to Lisa and Robert "Bob" Maloff their appreciation and gratitude for the numerous donations made to the local community. Her philanthropic donations have forever changed the community and her donations
throughout the medical, education, field sports, and family services will touch generations of Lake Tahoe residents.

However, in Tahoe, a constant bright spot has been found over the past several years with Ms. Lisa Maloff’s numerous charitable donations. Illustrated by the exhaustive list below, it is overwhelming to envision the impact she has had on our little community. And, while most would argue that the money has all the power to change everything, I disagree.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Canine Association has announced that K9 Tara will be retiring on May 17 during the annual South Lake Tahoe Police Department's (SLTPD) awards ceremony.
The 10-year-old Tara's handler is Sergeant Jason Cheney.

Retired South Lake Tahoe K9 Duke passes
Submitted by paula on Sun, 12/17/2017 - 8:48pmRetired South Lake Tahoe K9 Duke has passed away according to the South Lake Tahoe Police Canine Association. During his years of service he was responsible for the seizure of almost half a million dollars cash and countless narcotics detection arrests. He had numerous street suspect apprehensions, none of which were ever challenged in criminal or civil court according to his handler, Tony Broadfoot.
Duke had been trained by the Dutch Police in Belgium prior to coming to South Lake Tahoe in December of 2005.

8th annual K-9 trials in South Lake Tahoe October 3

The South Lake Tahoe Police Canine (K9) Association (SLTPCA) will be hosting the 8th annual K9 Trials at Lakeview Commons at El Dorado Beach on Saturday, October 3rd.
As a sanctioned Western States Police Canine Association event, it is expected to draw 45-50 canine teams throughout California.
The competition will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd with the Field Search phase which tests the ability of the canine team to locate hidden suspects.
Lisa Maloff donates $141,000 for new South Lake Tahoe Police K9

She was honored during Tuesday's City Council meeting for her recent donation to purchase and train Ricci, the Police Department's newest K9 officer.
South Lake Tahoe non-profits want the City's old parking meters
Submitted by paula on Sat, 02/28/2015 - 2:40pmThe donation of some of the City of South Lake Tahoe's parking meters will be decided at Tuesday's City Council meeting.
Two area non-profits, the SLT Police Canine Association and the Bijou Bike Park Association, would like to have some of them in order to solicit voluntary donations.
The canine group wants two of them, one to place in front of the Regan Beach Dog Water Park and the Bijou Dog Park. The bikers will place theirs at the new Bijou ike Park BMX track. Each group will be responsible for their maintenance and operation.
South Lake Tahoe K9 Association gives back to animals in need
Submitted by paula on Thu, 12/25/2014 - 12:12amNot wanting to leave animals out of the holiday excitement, the South Lake Tahoe Police Canine Association (SLTPCA) joined forces with Pet Station on Christmas Eve to give presents to some furry friends at the animal shelter.
It may have been snowing outside but it was warm inside the El Dorado County Animal Services office as gifts were brought in by the SLTPCA who had received a wish list from the agency.
Pet Station offered to help the officers in fulfilling the wish list.

Fifty canine (K9) teams are expected at this year's South Lake Tahoe Police Canine Association's annual K9 trials on October 5.
This K9 Trial will determine the top K9 Teams for the year. This fun event is open to the public and starts around 8:00 AM at the Babe Ruth Baseball fields at 1090 Lyons Avenue. The rest of the events will take place at various locations around the city.
Dog Agility Park Opening Celebrated by Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

A Ribbon Cutting ceremony was held on Sunday, September 22nd to celebrate the opening of the Bijou Dog Agility Park.

It may not look like it today, but by Sunday the Bijou Dog Park Agility Course will have its grand opening. The official ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 1 pm on Sunday at Bijou Community Park.
The South Lake Tahoe Police Canine Association (SLTPCA) has worked for over a year to move this course from a dream into a reality.
South Lake Tahoe and canine association team up to install agility equipment at Bijou Dog Park

After careful consideration and discussions with all of the City Departments involved in this project it has been decided that the dog agility park will be located across from the dog park instead of inside the current dog park. We believe this is a better option and will be easier to maintain.
