Every Dog Has It's Day and in Tahoe it's Sunday!

It may not look like it today, but by Sunday the Bijou Dog Park Agility Course will have its grand opening. The official ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 1 pm on Sunday at Bijou Community Park.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Canine Association (SLTPCA) has worked for over a year to move this course from a dream into a reality.

The fenced off course is located inside the Bijou Community Park near the dog park and disc golf course. There will be several pieces of custom dog agility equipment inside the course which will be open 24/7 with public access at all times except when the South Lake Tahoe Police K9 unit is in training. The public is always invited to watch the training when in session.

The course was created by a partnership with the city and police and is being by donations. SLTPCA continues to seek donations to help with the cost and maintenance of the equipment.
