2nd annual Reef's Run for Hydrocephalus Awareness returns to Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The 2nd annual Reef’s Run for Hydrocephalus Awareness will be held at Round Hill Pines Resort on Sunday, September 8 at 8:30 a.m.
The run is in support of Reef Woldt, a three-year-old South Lake Tahoe boy with hydrocephalus, and all others will the condition that affects more than one million Americans.
Museum in Carson City to host community birthday bash for Glenn Lucky

Former South Lake Tahoe resident Glenn Lucky turn 65 this month, and the Nevada State Museum in Carson City is planning a big birthday party in his honor on September 27 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dema Guinn Concourse of the museum at 600 N. Carson Street.
Lucky was born on Sept. 27, 1952 in Coronado, Calif. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was just one.
He and his family moved to the South Shore when Glenn was 3-year-old.

Glenn Lucky wanted to raise awareness and funding for cerebral palsy research, a condition that has challenged him all his life, but never held him down. The vehicle he used to make his incredible journey debuts at the Nevada State Museum, Carson City, just in time to celebrate the Epic Ride bicycle event through Northern Nevada.

September 27, 2013 - 5:00pm Julian, 5, is diagnosed with cerebral palsy and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy that is difficult to treat. He has many different types of seizures multiple times a day. The journey to control his seizures has been difficult and on-going. The fundraiser will help raise money for alternative medicine not covered by health insurance. The fundraiser is free, and includes music, food, beer, wine, balloon twisting, and face painting. There will also be a silent auction from 6 -8 p.m. with great prizes. Everyone in the community is invited and encouraged to attend.
