November 16, 2019 - 10:00am Our November general meeting will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16th at 10 AM at the LTCC Mason Library in the Board Room. Our program will feature Frank Gerdeman, the new Director of Advance, a community-based program whose staff is housed at the college. ADVANCE is a collaborative network of local organizations, government offices, and employers, able to provide access to a wide range of services that help adults meet educational, career, and personal goals.

September 21, 2019 - 10:00am AAUW-South Lake Tahoe welcomes our sponsored Tech Trek campers and junior counselor to talk about their experiences at the UC Davis camp in July. This is a wonderful opportunity for all interested in finding out more about the opportunity for girls who have completed the 7th grade to attend the STEM camp. The public is welcome to attend and learn more about our mission and activities for the year. Refreshments will be served. This meeting will be held in the Roberta Mason Library Board Room at Lake Tahoe Community College.

April 6, 2019 - 10:00am AAUW-South Lake Tahoe General Meeting Our next meeting will be held on April 6, 2019 at 10 AM at the Robert Maloff Center, home to the Barton Center for Orthopedics and Wellness. The Center is located at 2170 South Ave., South Lake Tahoe. We will be meeting in the lobby at the front desk where Adriana Covell will explain the benefits of having a health coach and then give us a tour of the facility.
The public is welcome and light refreshments will be served.

November 10, 2018 - 10:00am Join both the Friends of the Library and AAUW-South Lake Tahoe for a presentation by Amanda Horn of the Nevada Museum of Art on Anne Brigman: A Visionary in Modern Art on Saturday, November 10, 10:99 a.m. in the Lake Tahoe Community College Aspen/Board Room.
This major retrospective exhibition, which is at the Reno museum through January 27, 2019, rediscovers and celebrates the work of Anne Brigman (1869-1950) who is best known for her iconic landscape photographs made in the early 1900s depicting herself and other female nudes outdoors in the Sierra Nevada.

September 15, 2018 - 10:00am Welcome our Tech Trek attendees who will be giving us a presentation on their summer experience at UC Davis. Our presenters are 8th grade girls who attended our scholarship sponsored week long technology camp.
We will have an array of light refreshments and visitors are welcome. Please attend if you are interested in finding out more about what our local AAUW organization is involved in. There will be a brief business meeting to inform about our small group programming for fall.

Richard Solbrig, General Manager and engineer with the South Tahoe Public Utility District will talk about water issues, including rate hikes, meters and water supply. Come with questions. This meeting is open to the public and light refreshments will be provided.
Minden Soaring Club awards $5K in scholarships to area students
Submitted by paula on Sun, 03/25/2018 - 10:24pmFive students from the area were awarded scholarships by the Minden Soaring Club (MSC) to help finance flight and ground instruction in preparation for obtaining a private or other glider rating.
Five scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each were awarded to youths who demonstrated they are interested in learning to fly gliders and/or who have already begun their training and need additional monetary assistance. The scholarships were announced by the MSC Board of Trustees at the club’s annual general meeting on March 18, 2018.

February 10, 2018 - 10:30am The public is invited to join the American Association of University Women (AAUW) at their next general meeting in South Lake Tahoe when the featured speaker will be Carl Hasty from the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD). They will be meeting on Saturday, February 10 at 10:30 a.m. in the Aspen/Board Room of Lake Tahoe Community College.
Hasty will discuss Lake Tahoe Basin transit issues, including the proposed Loop Road. This is an issue that affects our entire community.

Besides the group's Fall General Meeting, speaker and author Carol Van Etten will present a visual history of steamships on Lake Tahoe. She has been a lifelong student of Lake Tahoe history, as well as boats on the lake, and has published three books on marine history.

April 16, 2016 - 6:00pm Lake Tahoe Windjammers Yacht Club invites the public to attend their Annual Chowder Feed and Membership Drive on Saturday, April 16 at 6:00 pm. at their clubhouse located above the harbor master's office in the Tahoe Keys Marina.
This event features Ross Groelz's famous Oyster Stew and Clam Chowder, salads, garlic bread and desserts for $15. There will also be a cash bar available. Social hour begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner around 7:00 p.m.
This will be followed by the General Meeting.
