With only two months until summer, South Tahoe High School is getting ready for end-of-year school spirit activities and dances. Students also took the time to prepare for tonight’s Black Light Dance and celebrate Earth Day.

This week, students went online to select their schedule for next year.

Black Light Dance is in the student union 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. tonight. Before the dance, the Black Light Rally is being held in the school’s gym at noon.

Harrah’s Casino hosted a job fair Tuesday for students interested in summer jobs.

The City of South Lake Tahoe is looking for summer staff and their Parks and Recreation Department is holding a job fair on Wednesday, April 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Last year's job fair was very successful and many positions were filled and they plan again to fill many positions at the fair.

The job fair is held at the Recreation Center located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.

LAKE TAHOE, CA/NV - The winter job fair, Tahoe Works, will be held on October 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at MontBleu Resort. This hiring event puts the South Shore's employers in touch with those looking for jobs, all under one roof.

Attendess can also receive information on resources including housing and healthcare.

THe job fair is sponsored by the Tahoe Chamber, Advance and Golden Sierra.

Local businesses are looking for help to set up concerts in the area this summer, staff for golfing, boating, casinos, summer adventures on the slopes, retail, restaurants, the Forest Service, construction, lodging and banking to name just a few.

Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort will all be having job fairs at the beginning of November, and new this year, 15- and 16-year-old teens can now be employed.

They are accepting applications for the upcoming 2015-16 winter season as well as having the job fairs.

Due to popular demand, community job fairs will be held on both the North and South Shores of Lake Tahoe this spring. Last year's Tahoe Job Fair was held at Squaw Valley and over 1,100 perspective employees attended.

In a joint effort between Harrahs and Harveys, the Lake Tahoe Sustainability Collaboration, Professional Ski Instructor's Association and the American Assocition of Snowboarder Instructors, the Tahoe Regional Community fair will be held on the South Shore March 31 and on the North Shore on April 1.

Thirty-six employers will be on hand at the Tahoe Regional Job Fair being held in Kings Beach on November 7.

Employers include TRPA, Hyatt Regency, Northstar, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Wyndham Vacation Ownership, Raley's, PlumpJack Squaw Valley, Westshore Cafe and Inn, Hard Rock Casino Lake Tahoe, the Ritz-Carlton, along with many others.

THe fair will be held at the North Tahoe Event Center at 8318 North Lake Blvd. Register for the event on line. The event will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Operational departments will be interviewing and hiring seasonal workers including Lift Operations, Retail, Food & Beverage, Adult Ski & Snowboard School, Wild Mountain Children’s Center, Blizzard Mountain, Guest Services, Parking, Rental & Repair Services and Ticket Administration. Heavenly Mountain Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort in Lake Tahoe are giving candidates that opportunity by hiring 1,500 employees and 750 employees, respectively, for the 2012-13 winter season. On Saturday, October 20, the annual job fair will be held jointly for Heavenly and Kirkwood at the California Main Lodge at Heavenly from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
