Sierra-at-Tahoe to close for at least 72 hours
Submitted by paula on Sat, 03/14/2020 - 9:37pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A day after they canceled events that were deemed high-risk, Sierra-at-Tahoe has announced they are suspending operations on Sunday, March 15 for at least 72 hours.
In a statement, Sierra-at-Tahoe said they apologized for the short notice and for any inconvenience it may post to their customers.

The future of Tahoe tourism needs to be sustainable. This year’s Annual Tourism Forum will address this global concern on a local level on Thursday, May 30 at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Responsible tourism is something all businesses in the Lake Tahoe basin are working towards and this year’s forum will explore that theme. Fatal crash south of Lake Tahoe claims life of Carson City man
Submitted by paula on Wed, 02/01/2017 - 7:38pm11:00 a.m. update February 2 - A 30-year-old Carson City resident died in the Wednesday night three-car crash at the top of Luther Pass on SR89 near Grass Lake. The unidentified man was driving a Ford F150 northbound at about 4:29 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, drifted to the right. A witness told the California Highway Patrol (CHP) that the driver then overcorrected and went into oncoming traffic.

Jim Cantore and Paul Goodloe, leading correspondents at The Weather Channel, both broadcast live from Heavenly Mountain Resort and showcased South Lake Tahoe’s powder-filled ski conditions for two days, eight hours each day during the historic snowfall January 10-13, 2017.

Reder, the owner of The Loft at Heavenly Village, is also the man behind the Reggae Festival and Electronic Dance Music's (EDM) Bass Camp Festival, both held on the South Shore.

“Every citizen must be able to vote without interference or discrimination and to have that vote counted without it being stolen because of fraud," said Acting U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert. "The Department of Justice will act promptly and aggressively to protect the integrity of the election process.”

Designed by PR Entertainment, the $1 million complex features 107-seats, a separate dining area serving authentic Italian cuisine, bar and upscale lounge, all on the top floor of Heavenly Village above the movie theater.
Magic and illusion fans will appreciate "Magic Fusion," The Loft's show staring Tony Clark, winner of the coveted Magician of the Year award and numerous television appearances.

The new indoor, year-round live theater is in a newly created space above the current Heavenly Village Cinemas created by PR Entertainment. It will include a bar and lounge, 107 seat theater and Italian restaurant featuring Chef Lisa Devenchezi-Miller, who also owns of Capisce? in South Lake Tahoe.

Hard Rock Lake Tahoe announces BaseJam Summer Concert Series

A temporary 7,500 seat outdoor area is being created on the back parking lot of Hard Rocky Hotel & Casino in Lake Tahoe in order to host the “BaseJam Summer 2015 Outdoor Concert Series.”
A summer full of concerts at the new casino on the South Shore will start with the 3rd Annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival on June 27. Also booked is the Lake Tahoe Bluegrass Festival which is slated for July 11.
Hard Rock Lake Tahoe to add outdoor concerts this summer

The rear parking lot at the Stateline property will be converted into an outdoor amphitheater that will seat up to 7,500 people.
In a venture with PR Entertainment, Inc. (owned by former Caesars Entertainment Director Paul Reder), Hard Rock is looking to attract top-name national artists to the Lake Tahoe area. They plan on starting the concerts in June and concluding on Labor Day weekend.
