Long-time Lake Tahoe lawman Les Lovell retires

The notions of keeping peace and preserving justice were always on his radar and for 30-plus years, the now-retired senior lieutenant for the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office Lake Tahoe Branch fulfilled his commitment.
Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows merger complete
Submitted by Sam Bauman on Wed, 11/16/2011 - 10:26amThe previously announced transaction between KSL Capital Partners and JMA Ventures which joins Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows under one operating company has officially closed. This announcement affirms that skiers and riders can access Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows’ 6,000 acres, 44 lifts and over 270 trails on one lift ticket or season pass. The two resorts will be connected by convenient, complimentary shuttles that will provide transportation between the two resorts.
“Since announcing the merger, the Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley joint pass products –the Tahoe Super Pass and Tahoe Super Six, and Squaw Valley’s $50 million Renaissance, the response from our guests has been overwhelmingly positive” said Andy Wirth, Squaw Valley’s president and CEO.“The opportunity to experience these two incredible mountains, each with their own unique spirit and character, through one pass and one ticket has resonated deeply with our guests,” said Wirth. Wirth will take the helm as the president and CEO of Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, LLC, the newly formed parent company of both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows.
Jessica Richitelli named Squaw Valley terrain park manager

Richitelli joins the Squaw Valley team with more than nine years of terrain park experience, including a background in park construction and maintenance, event execution, sponsorship relations, hiring, training and marketing. Most recently Richitelli served as the terrain park manager at Cranmore Mountain in North Conway, NH.
Squaw Valley Job fair Nov. 11
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 10/24/2011 - 4:31amSquaw Valley will host the resort’s seasonal job interview fair on Friday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Taking place in the Palisades Conference Room adjacent to the lobby of The Village at Squaw Valley, the interview fair will include interviews for a wide range of positions including snowsports instructors, ski patrol, lift operations, grooming, terrain parks, culinary services, rental services, retail, security, parking, product sales and services, and transportation.
