4th annual South Lake Tahoe Science Fair
Submitted by paula on Tue, 03/19/2019 - 5:53pmThe 4th annual South Lake Tahoe Science Expo will be held in the Lake Tahoe Community College gymnasium April 2-5, 2019 with a public Science Expo held on Thursday, April 4 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The theme this year is Physical Science.
Ages 6-12 and their families are invited to engage in hands-on science investigations and experiments. Over 30 activities at the expo will focus on the properties of matter, physical and chemical changes, energy and energy transfer, forces and motion, magnetism, air pressure, friction and more.

Life Science and Health is the theme of the 3rd annual South Lake Tahoe Science Expo which will be held on Thursday, April 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Lake Tahoe Community College gymnasium.
There will be hands-on science investigations, experiments, and demonstrations for visitors of all ages. This year's activities focus on health, nutrition, the human body, organisms, ecosystems, food webs, life cycles, inheritance, adaptation, and more!
The Science Expo fosters curiosity, excitement, and interest in science and its free and open to the public.
Volunteers still needed for South Lake Tahoe Science Fair

The Science Expo provides over 30 hands-on science activities for upper elementary students to learn about science. This year's theme is Earth and Space Science.
All the activities will be ready to go and volunteers will be trained for their station, so no science background is needed. You might even learn something new while teaching the local youth!

Let the games begin, again! Dodgeball, table tennis, badminton, music, food, bounce house, science fair and more are all on tap for the 3rd annual Community Games on the Lake Tahoe Community College campus on Saturday, May 7 from noon to 4:00 p.m.
The LTCC Coyote athletes will train young soccer players and other kids activities include face painting and a scavenger hunt. But, its not all for kids, tournaments for adults will create a lot of excitement.

Submitted by paula on Wed, 03/30/2016 - 7:22pmKids, families, teachers*, and anyone interested in making scientific discoveries and learning something new should head to the Lake Tahoe Community College for the inaugural South Lake Tahoe Science Expo on Thursday, March 31 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Always an annual event on the north shore, this will be the first time it heads south. Students will visit the expo during school, but the whole family is invited to the Thursday evening event, which promises to make science fun!
UC Davis bringing Science Fair to South Lake Tahoe; Volunteers needed

The UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Education Research Center (TERC) is expanding their successful Science Expo program to South Lake Tahoe through funding they were awarded last week by Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe.
Through a partnership with the Lake Tahoe Unified School District, TERC will host three days of the expo March 30 through April 1 at Lake Tahoe Community College.
During the day the expo will be presented to students in South Lake Tahoe and the community is invited to a public session March 31 from 4:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Join people from across the state in one giant science fair project on May 8th. Be a scientist for a day as you complete one of three projects: Find Pollinators, Water Conservation and track where your food comes from.
The vast science project is in in recognition of the 100th anniversary of University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE).
