Goodies and treats for ghouls and goblins of all ages
Submitted by paula on Tue, 10/30/2018 - 10:52amKids of all ages will be donning their Halloween best on Wednesday as they hit the streets of South Lake Tahoe seeking their bag full of treats.
Besides the door-to-door trick or treaters, two popular parties for kids will also be hopping.
Treat Street, sponsored by KRLT 93.9 FM and KOWL 1490 AM, returns to Lake Tahoe Community College on October 31 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Participants will go from room to room for an indoor treating experience.
Rainbow Sprinkles to reopen in South Lake Tahoe

After their first year in business the owners closed for a couple of weeks to make some changes and are now excited to see the customers they've missed.
"We love our customers and can't wait to see them again!" said co-owner Salli Ross-Filgo. "We wanted to say how grateful we are to this community for their support. We have had the honor of serving so many wonderful people."
Lake Tahoe Community College honors faculty members

LTCC business instructor Treva Thomas was chosen by her fellow faculty members as the Distinguished Faculty Award winner for 2017, math and physics instructor Bruce Armbrust was tapped by LTCC’s students as their choice for Teacher of the Year, and adjunct instructor/Work Experience and Internship Coordinator Jenna Palacio was selected by faculty members as Adjunct Instructor of the Year.

Lego Block Party at the South Lake Tahoe Library at 10 a.m. - Design, build, invent with Legos! Join us as we build with Legos and Duplo blocks. The whole family is welcome. Your Lego creation will be displayed in the library until next month’s Block Party when the fun begins again. All blocks will be provided. Sponsored by Friends of the Library.
13th annual Treat Street moves to Lake Tahoe Community College

Trick or Treat in a safe, fun environment at the 13th annual Treat Street on Saturday, October 31 at the Lake Tahoe Community College from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Local businesses and non-profits will be there to hand out candy to children in a safe, controlled environment.
Thousands of children have attended in the past, decked out as superheroes, princesses, magicians and monsters.
Volunteers will be passing out candy, serving hot cocoa, pizza, cotton candy, popcorn and s'mores in and around the haunted house.

Halloween Cove returns to the Beach Retreat & Lodge located at 3411 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Kids will go from room to room getting treats, enjoy face painting, games, photos and music. Head for the courtyard of the hotel. It goes from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and it's free.

Bring your children to Trick or Treat in a safe, dry and fun environment at the 12th annual Treat Street Friday, October 31st at the South Lake Tahoe Airport. Local Businesses and non-profits will hand out candy and other treats inside the terminal.
There will be a spooky haunted house, games and a live radio broadcast. Costumes are encouraged so bring your little ones decked out!!!

Halloween Fun in South Lake Tahoe Starts This Weekend

Halloween Dance with the Tahoe Dance Band - at the Senior Center on Friday, October 25. The 17 piece dance band will perform big band music, food, drink, costume prizes. 7:30 - 10 pm. $10.

The 11th Annual Treat Street will be held on Halloween night at South Lake Tahoe's Pine Cone Acre Motel. This year's event is sponsored by the Tahoe Area Coordinating Council for the Disabled (TACCD) and the Tahoe Sierra Kiwanis Aktion Club.
All trick or treaters are invited to this free evening of fun and games from 5 to 8 pm. There will be a haunted house, bounce house, mini golf, pie eating contest and other special events. There will also be free hot chocolate, candy and s'mores. There will also be hotdogs for sale for $1.

retiring 3 year term Station Leader Dick Young was replaced by Richard Thomson of Thomson's Insurance. Assisting Thomson are past Station Leaders Dick Young and George Schultz.
