The South Tahoe Vikings varsity boys basketball team scored 44 points in each of their two road trip games this weekend, but the games had differing results.
On Friday, STHS lost to Northern Nevada 1A league leading Elko 65-44. Junior Denzel Perez led all Viking scorers with seven points, followed by Seniors Stone Merkley and Matt Herring with six each.
Saturday's game had a much different outcome as they beat Spring Creek 44-24. Perez was the leading scorer for the Vikings again with ten points and right behind him was Merkley with eight. Senior Tyler Hogbin scored seven in the win as did fellow Senior Chase Waterman.
With only four games left in the regular season, the 6-6 Vikings will meet Dayton in a 7:30 p.m. away game on Tuesday. February 7 is also an away game in Fernley.
The last two games of the season will be at home. February 10 will be a 7:30 p.m. game against Sparks and February 14 is a against Churchill County at 2:30 p.m.
