Fun Options for Kids During the Summer: Boys & Girls Club Programs

We all know that kids can't wait to get out of school, but by July they may be getting a bit bored. Or, perhaps you're wondering where your kids can going and be safe while having fun during your work day.

The Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe is now accepting applications for their summer programs. They are anticipating a very action-packed and fun filled summer with such clubs as BMX, Hockey, Lacrosse, Sewing, Biking, Jaembe Drumming, Guitar, Skate Club, Rec Center Swim, Bug Camp, Choir, Golf, Ice Skating, and Broom Ball. They have a variety of programs that will entice all ages and interests.

Along with the clubs and programs, they will also be battling summer learning loss through a fun program called Brain Gain, where they challenge the members’ knowledge in fun and active ways.

They'll also have field trips to Fallen Leaf Lake, Taylor Creek, Tahoe Bowl, Carson Valley Swim Center, Aerospace Museum of California, Discovery Museum, Wild Island, EZAIR, Eagle Falls, and Sand Harbor. Sign ups for those events will be on a first come, first serve basis.

If you have a teen that is at least 14 years old, in lieu of the summer registration fee they may volunteer once a week on a regular basis and be able to attend the summer program.
