Stateline redevelopment area remains intact after Douglas County Commissioners' decision
Submitted by paula on Mon, 06/24/2019 - 11:52pmSTATELINE, Nev. - Douglas County Redevelopment Area No. 2 (RDA2) at Stateline is moving forward despite a move to have it dissolved by Douglas County Commissioner Dave Nelson.
There was an overflow crowd at the commissioner's June 20 meeting at Lake Tahoe. Many of those who could not fit in the meeting room were accommodated with audio feed in the judges' chambers and the bottom floor of the parking garage.
Reuters: Sources say Eldorado Resorts clinches $18 billion cash and stock deal for Caesars

The agreement comes three months after Reuters reported that Caesars had agreed to give Eldorado access to its books under pressure from billionaire investor Carl Icahn, who earlier this year was awarded seats on Caesars’ board.
5th annual Rock Tahoe Half Marathon this weekend; Lane closure announced

The race, presented by Epic Tahoe Adventures (ETA), sends the runners past the spectacular scenery of many of Tahoe’s east and south shore treasures including Glenbrook, Logan Shoals, Cave Rock, Round Hill Pines, Nevada Beach, and Rabe Meadow. They wind down over 1,000 feet from Spooner Summit to the finish line at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe.

There are a lot of significant concerns, which is normal with a project of this scope. That said, the 'us vs. them' mentality that many residents use as a reason to avoid this project is frustrating and potentially damaging to our community.

Revenue on the South Shore was $15,913,477, up 9.16 percent from the same month a year ago when revenue was $14,577,529. On the North Shore, their reported revenue of $2,085,064 was up 2.2 percent from March 2018.
Statewide, the revenues reported by casinos was $1,022,974,672, down .12 percent from last year.
The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.
Lake Tahoe Environmental Science Magnet School students win national award

This week, students went online to select their schedule for next year.
Black Light Dance is in the student union 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. tonight. Before the dance, the Black Light Rally is being held in the school’s gym at noon.

North Lake Tahoe security guard arrested on 403 felony counts

Just after midnight on Thursday, April 25, deputies from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call from the Crystal Bay Casino. Security guard Richard Britt called the deputies for assistance with an unwanted subject at the North Shore property.

Monthly gaming report: Lake Tahoe casino revenue sees sharp drop

Revenue on the South Shore was $14,571,570, down 26.64 percent from the same month a year ago when revenue was $19,861,878. On the North Shore, their reported revenue of $1,411,965 was down 24.74 percent from February 2018.
Statewide, the revenues reported by casinos was $1,011,538,885, down .62 percent from last year.

This plan was concocted by the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) with little input from the community and the near absence of participation by our former City Leaders.
South Lake Tahoe trio arrested after alleged kidnapping, domestic violence and drug case

Submitted by paula on Thu, 02/28/2019 - 11:11amGaming revenue for the State of Nevada during the month of January 2019 showed an decrease over the same month a year ago, posting a loss of 3.01 percent with a "win" of $984,526,623 for casinos in the state (down $30.5M) according to figures released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board today.
The South Shore of Lake Tahoe experienced a loss when compared to January 2018 as well, down 14 percent with their recorded "win" of $16,892,197. This was the largest percentage loss in the state.

Body of missing El Dorado Hills woman found

On February 20, 2019, at about 4:30 p.m., the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) was dispatched to a report of an unresponsive female in a vehicle at a local church parking lot. Fire and medical personnel responded and declared the woman deceased upon their arrival.

The 49-year-old woman was last seen by her daughter on the evening of the 13th and last heard from on the 14th when she made a call from her cell phone to her husband.
Her phone was later found in her home where there was no evidence of foul play at the residence

A new board of directors had taken several steps, including the sale of their Emerald Bay Road building and laying off of employees, to get LTHS back on their feet but could never get the nonprofit's community standing back.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office plans strong presence in Stateline on New Year's Eve

Due to the high volume of celebrants within the Stateline casino core area during this event, U.S. Highway 50 may be closed to vehicle traffic in the evening if necessary for public safety. If that should occur, vehicle traffic will be diverted around the Stateline casino core area using upper and lower Lake Parkway Drive. In past years, the road has closed anywhere from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Nevada Gaming Control Board: South Shore casino revenue up over 10%

The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.
On the South Shore, the $17,136,801 in gaming revenue earned by the casinos was up by 10.49 percent from 2017. The Carson City and Carson Valley had a "win" of $8,974,211 in September, up 3.48 percent.

Ex-Humane Society director finishes jail term just one month after guilty plea
Submitted by paula on Mon, 11/26/2018 - 8:47pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Even though she was sentenced to six months in jail after taking a plea deal for her embezzlement of almost $60,000, Niki Congero, the former executive director of the Lake Tahoe Humane Society, has been released and is now back in Tennessee a free woman.
She was in the El Dorado County Jail from August 1 to October 28, a total of 89 days. Her jail term started the day of her arrest in Tennessee.
US 50/South Shore Community Revitalization Project approved by TRPA

On Thursday, November 15, 2018, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Board of Directors unanimously approved the final joint environmental document for the US 50/South Shore Community Revitalization Project, also known as the "Loop Road."
Last week, the board of the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) unanimously approved the same document, the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS/EIS).
William "Bill" Horning 1957 ~ 2018

He graduated from South Tahoe High School in 1975. Bill worked in the casino industry for 36 years and was employed by Marriott Timber Lodge when he passed.
Bill passed on to be with his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by Dany, his loving wife of 16 years. He will be missed by all his friends that loved him so much.

Nevada Gaming Control Board: South Shore casino revenue drops in September
Submitted by paula on Tue, 10/30/2018 - 1:36pmGaming revenue for the State of Nevada during the month of September 2018 showed a slight increase over the previous year, posting a gain of 1.26 percent with a "win" of $991,222,034 for casinos in the state, according to figures released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board today.
The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.

The Heart By Heart tour will bring back all of the favorites from the multi-platinum selling band including “Barracuda,” “Crazy On You,” “Alone” and more by perfectly recreating the songs of HEART.
