The following are calls that only pertain to the South and West Shore, including Meyers, South Lake Tahoe, Meeks Bay, Tahoma, and the Echo Summit area. There may be some missing calls due to sheriff's logs not being completed at the time of the story.

Two South Lake Tahoe cold cases solved with genetic genealogy

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - Two decades old murders in the South Lake Tahoe area have been solved using genetic genealogy, identifying a deceased local man as the murderer of two women.
During a El Dorado Cold Case Task Force press conference in Placerville Monday, District Attorney Vern Pierson said Joseph Stephen Holt of South Lake Tahoe and San Jose was responsible for killing Brynn Rainey in 1977 and Carol Ann Andersen in 1979.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The 2019 Amgen Tour of California will be the longest and most challenging in its 14-year history, including a Men’s Stage 2 race from Rancho Cordova to South Lake Tahoe on May 13. This marks the fifth straight year South Lake Tahoe has hosted an Amgen Tour of California event.

Kili Ongoy named STAR Rookie of the Year

S.T.A.R. program.celebrates 25 years in El Dorado County

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office started the S.T.A.R. program (Sheriff’s Team of Active Retirees) in 1994 with volunteers in Placerville and South Lake Tahoe. The volunteers help law enforcement officers, firefighters, and paramedics to ensure public safety, by performing traffic controls and maintaining roadblocks.

A ReFresh of New Snow yesterday… Winter Weather Advisory posted, today thru Wednesday afternoon… Then, Winter Storm Watch from Wednesday afternoon thru late Thursday… 2-4 Feet possible above 7000 feet… Surface Conditions are holding up with Machine Groomed & Skier-Rider Packed Powder with Fresh Snow on top… Respect all Patrol Rope lines & Area Closures… Get After it! Winter Weather Advisory continues thru 9:00pm this evening… A few inches of Fresh Snow reported at all resorts and should continue to fall thru out the day… Winds are affecting the operation of lifts with Wind Holds reported at Heavenly, Squaw, Alpine & Mammoth to start the day. Call Ahead… Some road controls posted… buckle up and drive safely! Get After it! Have Fun & Be Safe!
SnowGlobe gives back to the South Lake Tahoe community

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - SnowGlobe’s 2018 is over but their donations to the local community will continue for months, years and decades to come.
SnowGlobe donated fresh food, water, personal items and clothing to 11 local charities, including Live Violence Free, The Warm Room (Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless), South Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center, the Lake Tahoe Boys & Girls Club, Christmas Cheer, Tahoe Youth & Family Services, St. Theresa’s Church and their Bread & Broth program, Focus, Case de Fida, and the Reno/Sparks Gospel Mission.

There is no greater gift than to help others especially during the holiday season.
Two local families made Bread & Broth’s holiday Monday Meals extra special thanks to their monetary donations, and more importantly, sharing their time to host and help at their Adopt A Day of Nourishment dinners.

TODAY’S WEATHER: Expect Cloudy Skies with a chance of showers. Snow level 7500 ft. Highs: 39F-44F. (29F-34F on the Slopes). South Winds 10-15 mph. Ridge Gusts up to 50 mph, increasing to 75 mph in the afternoon.

The Day the Locals take back their mountains… Winds are impacting operation of upper mountain lifts, so lifts will operate Wind & Weather Permitting this morning… Wind Holds reported at some resorts this morning and some resorts opting not to open… Lift operations will change thru out the day as this weather system moves east.
