Letters: No Globe Alliance wants change or elimination of SnowGlobe event

We are a diverse group of local South Lake Tahoe residents who are organizing to eliminate or relocate SnowGlobe. This event has unfairly displaced local residents, invaded our homes with noise, closed access to whole neighborhoods, exposed our forests to unnecessary and dangerous potential for fire and attracted visitors who do not reflect the family friendly Lake Tahoe we want to be. We want to bring the experiences of our local community into the light.

SnowGlobe wrap up: Global attention, donations, the environment and fields

As the tents are taken down, the stage removed and all other components of SnowGlobe disappear for another year, an evaluation of the Community Play Field and other aspects of the seventh annual event in South Lake Tahoe are being made. There may be negatives to the popular event that draws in 20,000 people a day, there are also many positives to be celebrated.

There is more to the three-day festival, SnowGlobe, than music and crowds, a side of the event many aren't aware of.

Letters: It's been 7 years. Can you turn it down?

To the City, Snowglobe, and Community – As many of you know I am vocal critic of Snowglobe. Well after another year I feel like it’s kind of tradition for me to write my letter and vent about the event.

I will preface this letter with a reminder that I am not against events in the area. I just want events to be at a proper venue and I want them to not shake the walls of my house.

SnowGlobe thrills attendees as Khalid and others take the stage

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIF. - Fans of electronic music have flocked to South Lake Tahoe for the annual SnowGlobe outdoor music festival held December 29-31 at, one the Community Fields. That hobby is now their passion, and their business, as they release more songs and gather more fans of their unique genre.

Countdown to SnowGlobe: Safety and noise information

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIF. - This year's SnowGlobe may seem to be the loudest one yet as there is no snow on the ground to absorb the sound. There was a year without much snow at the venue, but with no snow at the South Lake Tahoe venue we'll have to wait and see just how loud music from the three-day festival will be. SnowGlobe runs from December 29-31.
