SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Heavenly’s annual Spring Loaded event is full of fun-filled festivities for those skiing and boarding at the resort from March 26 to April 9.

With 14" of new snow this week and more expected on top of their 600" of snow this season, Heavenly is celebrating the change of seasons with live music, loud outfits and various activities that include Unbuckle Après Parties, Heavenly DJ Cat pop up parties, Pond Skimming and more.

South Lake Tahoe, Calif. - There are now eight nights of summer concerts scheduled for the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena. Lenny Kravitz is the latest to book and will head to the South Shore July 14 for an 8:00 p.m. show at the arena at Harveys. Pre-sale tickets go on sale March 22, general public sales March 24.

Kravitz will be one of two artists booked to perform on the outside stage during the annual American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament in South Lake Tahoe July 11-16, 2017. Third Eye Blind plays after the final round.

The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club is holding their 49th annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration at the Harrah's Lake Tahoe Convention Center from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17.

It started with a wine and cheese party on the second floor of Dart Liquor and it has morphed over the years into one of the top annual fundraisers on the South Shore.

600 people are expected at the evening full of food, fun, dancing and drinking, all in the name of community to raise funds for the Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club's scholarships and grant programs.

Lake Tahoe Community College is holding their first-ever Coyote Country Rail Jam on Friday, March 10 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and everyone is invited.

This free event is open to all skiers and boarders with "big-air dreams." All ages are welcome and there is no entry cost.

The summer concert schedule in South Lake Tahoe is starting to fill up with the addition of another one at Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series at Harvey's outdoor arena.

“California Reggae” band Rebelution will return on Friday evening, June 30. The popuar band will be joined on their “Good Vibes” tour by Nahko and Medicine for the People; Collie Buddz; Hirie; and DJ Mackle.

Nevada is one of the few states that celebrate its Admission Day, and boy do we throw a party. A parade, competitions of strength and facial hair, hot air balloons, bloody marys, a carnival, pow wow, and free chili are just a few of the festivities awaiting the capital city on Saturday.

The party begins Friday this year with a ribbon cutting celebration of the 'new' downtown. The Nevada State Museum hits its 75th Anniversary this year and will have a day full of fun and surprises. Word Wave, a festival for readers, writers, and lovers of story has returned to South Lake Tahoe. The three day long Word Wave will feature readings, workshops, panels, music, and plays from October 21-23, 2016 at Tallac Historic Site.

Every culture has used, and continues to use, story to entertain, educate, preserve history and tradition, and connect and WordWave will celebrate those words and the story in all its forms for the second year on the South Shore.

The second annual WordWave Festival will take place October 21-23, 2016, on the shore of South Lake Tahoe at the Tallac Historic Site. Some of the most creative and inspiring writers, musicians, and performers from around the country will be on the South Shore to share their talents at this three-day event. The festival will be interactive, featuring readings, workshops, panels, plays, open mics, guided hikes, and oral storytelling.

Robbie Gallo, the frontman for Vokab Kompany, is coming home to South Lake Tahoe this week for two shows, the first at Live at Lakeview Thursday night. The 1998 graduate of South Tahoe High School is also the MC for the San Diego based hip hop band.

The weather is starting to clear and temperatures are warming up, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. Don't forget, when you are coming or going from the Lake Tahoe Basin, check out the Caltrans message board at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/. Click on "Options" and "message boards." This handy tool shows you the exact time it takes to get from town over the mountain so you can stay longer and avoid the traffic!

Lake Tahoe Summer Kick Off Car and Bike Show at the Heavenly Village

The 5th annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show will be held April 22 and 23 at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex on Rufus Allen Blvd. The show will begin on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and run until 7:30 p.m. Saturday hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission to the show is free, and each attendee will receive a small gift and be entered into a chance to win a door prize.

It's not every day a local girl tries out for the musical talent show, American Idol, but Beth Tschantre has done just that.

The 25-year-old from South Lake Tahoe will make her American Idol debut on Thursday night's show when the San Francisco auditions are highlighted. The show is on FOX from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tschantre can't say much about what happens as she's bound by a confidentiality agreement, but she can say her segment starts tonight and goes into next week.

The SnowGlobe Music Festival announced Thursday additional artists to the 5th anniversary of the three-day celebration in South Lake Tahoe December 29-31, 2015. Hosted in the heart of California’s breathtaking Sierra Nevada Mountains, the unique outdoor winter festival offers over 50 world-class artists performing multiple stages and culminating in an impressive NYE firework show. By day, time is spent enjoying the many alpine adventures available in the stunning setting of Lake Tahoe.

After the kids have finished up their trick-or-treating, the South Lake Tahoe nightlife gives adults a lot of opportunity for some ghoulish fun.

The inaugural Tahoe Games Bike Night Series, presented by On Course Events, Tahoe Center for Orthopedics and the Lake Tahoe Golf Course will conclude with the final races of the season on Saturday, September 26.

These family-friendly x-country night bike races feature a custom illuminated course that runs through the Lake Tahoe Golf Course, over fairways, into the rough, through sand traps and over bridges with the occasional cart path. The course is approximately 3 miles per lap, with most classes riding 2 laps.

Considered one of the founding fathers of Americana, singer songwriter Jimmy LaFave will be at the Valhalla Boathouse Theater on Wednesday, August 12.

DIRT NASTY:

The inaugural Rock Tahoe Half Marathon will bring approximately 5,000 people
including runners, friends, and family to South Lake Tahoe this weekend as they Run, Rock, and Recover in this one of a kind event.

On Saturday, June 20, 2,000 runners will take off along the 13.1-mile course from Spooner Summit and wind their way down Highway 50 along the East Shore of Lake Tahoe to the finish line at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. The course will also take runners off the highway along the newly completed forest bike path from Round Hill Pines to Kahle Drive.

The Splash Day Club at Hard Rock Hotel Lake Tahoe was set to open over the Memorial Day weekend, but wet weather and a chance of thundershowers has caused management to postpone the grand opening.

“We’ve been ramping up for the opening of Splash Day Club, but we want to do it right with the best conditions possible,” said Chris Fiumara, vice president and general manager of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. “Plus, it’s no secret this area needs some serious precipitation, so we’ll take it.”
