LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - During the 31st annual American Century Championship, Korbel California Champagne® once again held its popular Closest-to-the-Pin contest on No. 17 at Edgewood Tahoe.

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – Thursday was money giveaway day at the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority (LTVA) meeting at Stateline. Thirty-eight local nonprofits were given checks totaling $100,000, a result of funds raised during the 30th annual American Century Championship at Edgewood.

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - The Tahoe Prosperity Center (TPC) has been chosen as the charity that could win $125,000 during this year's Korbel Closest-to-the-Pin challenge during the American Century Championship on Friday. A total of $250,000 is on the line during this annual contest that brings together 15 of the tournament’s most popular personalities to compete. If a contestant makes a hole-in-one, the $250,000 grand prize will be split with $125,000 going home with the celebrity, and $125,000 to TPC.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE - The leader after the first round of play in the American Century Championship is San Jose Sharks captain Joe Pavelski. He scored a 25 in the modified stableford scoring system used in the 29th annual tournament.

NFL Former Pro Bowl Quarterback Mark Rypien who was the inaugural tournament champion took home the title after teeing off from Hole 17 and placing his ball just seven feet away from the pin winning a $5,000 donation for The Tahoe Fund from the Korbel Toast Life® Foundation.

The South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic, a Vintage Boat Show for Charity is the Antique and Classic Boat Society, Inc., Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter's only ACBS-judged boat show.
