On Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 the Tahoe Project and Mo's Place are partnering to host the Tahoe venue for the first annual World Happy Day, when thousands of people will join together in communities around the globe to watch the award-winning film "Happy." Local musician and entrepreneur Tyler Lewis will play live music after the screening and DJ the dance party after that. Plan on a happy night out!
HAPPY the movie (Click here for the trailer) takes us on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the slums of Kolkata in search of what makes people happy. Combining real-life stories of people from around the world and powerful interviews with the leading scientists in happiness research, HAPPY explores the secrets behind our most valued emotion. Listen to the wisdom of a Kolkata rickshaw diver and the compassion of a volunteer at Mother Teresa's Home for the Dying. Witness middle school students applaud the bravery of their classmates during a moving presentation on bullying. HAPPY combines real-life human drama and cutting-edge science to provide insights into the mysteries of happiness.
One thing clear in the HAPPY Movie is that happiness comes with being connected to other people. Connecting people in the creation of sustainable opportunities to make a living in Tahoe is the drive behind TAHOE PROJECT— a hub for creative conversation, innovation and entrepreneurship promoting Tahoe's sustainable evolution. The HAPPY team, TAHOE PROJECT and Mo's Place are partnering to host this screening as a fundraiser for the TAHOE PROJECT internship initiative that aims to involve the next generation of community leaders in solving Tahoe's environmental issues.
