South Lake Tahoe Firefighters 'Fill the Boot for Burns'

On April 6-7, firefighters seen on South Lake Tahoe streets may not be responding to a fire or other emergency. Off-duty firefighters from South Lake Tahoe Fire Department will be shaking their turnout boots and collecting donations to help “Fill the Boot for Burns.” This event on Friday at the Safeway on Johnson Boulevard and Saturday Intersection of Lake Take Boulevard and Park Street will raise money to support burn prevention and recovery programs in Northern and Central California.

Firefighters will ask the community to help support burn recovery programs including:
— Firefighters Kids Camp for Young Burn Survivors

— Little Heroes Preschool Burn Camp, and other burn programs funded by the Firefighters Burn Institute.

Similar “Boot Drives” are being held simultaneously throughout the nation.
