$5 Dump Day for South Lake Tahoe residents June 4

Event Date:
June 4, 2016 - 8:00am

Need to clean out your yard, attic, or garage? Once you've reused or recycled all that you can, get rid of the rest at Clean Tahoe's annual Community Cleanup Day (aka $5 Dump Day) on Saturday, June 4, 2016. It's the one day of the year South Shore residents can bring unwanted items to South Tahoe Refuse at HUGE discounts.

At this annual event, South Tahoe residents can dispose of an entire vehicle-load of unwanted household and bulk items for only $5.00, or $10.00 for a truck and trailer. Residents can also take advantage of free document shredding, free disposal of e-waste such as TVs and computer monitors, and disposal of refrigerators for only $15 (normally $42). The event is for California residential loads ONLY. Commercial loads will pay regular prices, and Nevada residents will be charged $10 per vehicle load.

In addition, Clean Tahoe can provide pickup service of unwanted bulk items such as furniture or appliances for our senior citizens and disabled residents. Please contact our office at 530-544-4210 for details and to arrange pickup.

For this special Saturday event, the gates at South Tahoe Refuse will open at 8 a.m. and close promptly at 4 p.m. South Tahoe Refuse is located at 2140 Ruth Ave. in South Lake Tahoe. For more info, please call Clean Tahoe at 530-544-4210 or go to: http://clean-tahoe.org/community-cleanup-day/

Clean Tahoe is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the visual environment of the South Shore of the Lake Tahoe Basin through proper litter and trash management and public education. The community is encouraged to take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity to help keep Tahoe clean!

Clean Tahoe is proud to again partner with Heavenly Mountain Resort to bring this event to South Tahoe. With a generous grant from the Vail Resorts EpicPromise Program, we are able to keep the prices extremely low on this special day. Additional sponsors include South Tahoe Refuse & Recycling, South Tahoe Association of Realtors, Iron Mountain, and the Kiwanis Club.
