Event Date:
June 9, 2017 - 3:00pm The UCCE Master Gardeners of South Lake Tahoe are having part one (vegetables only) of their 4th annual Plant Sale this Friday, June 9 at the Ski Run Farmers Market from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., or until they sell out of plants. The sale is being held jointly with the Sierra House Elementary School who will be selling student crafted garden art.
Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer your questions about gardening at Tahoe. Whether it be growing vegetables, learning which plants attract butterflies and bees, finding out how to keep a garden growing with less water, or learning about various high elevation vegetable growing studies that are taking place in our area, you will find a wealth of information.
The group will be conducting a training session for new Master Gardeners beginning this September. This training session will be held once per month to try and accommodate the Tahoe lifestyle. The goal is to present a training session that is integrated with the current Master Gardener Program and is also hands-on.
UCCE Master Gardeners of Lake Tahoe are a dedicated group of locals, trained by University of California Cooperative Extension, sharing their knowledge to meet the horticulture needs of Lake Tahoe Basin gardeners. The Plant Sale supports their programs which include workshops, classes and other events such as Growing Food in Tahoe and the Tahoe Friendly Garden Program.
