Doggie Day at Cove East

Event Date:
June 22, 2014 - 11:30am

Join the California Tahoe Conservancy and Lake Tahoe Humane Society - S.P.C.A. in celebrating the dog days of summer with Doggie Day festivities at Cove East Beach on Sunday, June 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This free event will feature raffle prizes, educational points and dog-related contests. Every leashed pooch in attendance will leave with a free Frisbee too! Trail access to Cove East beach begins at the end of Venice Drive near the Tahoe Keys Marina.

"Doggie Day celebrates everyone who respectfully shares the marsh: families, dogs, and the sensitive species who inhabit the area," said Conservancy Land Steward Sarah Werick. "Our primary obligation is to protect the marsh's wildlife habitat and water quality values, but we also encourage recreational activity including leashed dogs enjoying Cove East."

Pet owners will learn about the Conservancy’s public lands and be given an opportunity to hone their pet etiquette skills.

Established in 1984, the mission of the Conservancy is to lead California’s efforts to restore and enhance the extraordinary natural and recreational resources of the Lake Tahoe Basin.
