Grow in Tahoe: Become a UCCE Master Gardener

The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) invites adults interested in helping others learn about gardening and landscaping to apply to train as a Master Gardener volunteer. UCCE Master Gardener volunteers learn University-based scientific information and then share that knowledge with the gardening community. Master Gardener volunteers are people of all ages and from all walks of life with a common desire to help others learn about gardening and landscaping.

They will be holding training session this fall. All sessions (except the field trip) will be held at Lake Tahoe Community College from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The training session will be held over 12 weeks from September to December 2016 on the following Thursdays:

September 15, 22, 29
October 6, 13, 20, 27
November 3, 10, 17
December 1, 8
Saturday: November 5

Who Can Apply?
Any resident of the Lake Tahoe Basin for the 20 available openings in the training program. Applicants need internet access. Most communication will be through email and websites.
