The body of Alyssa Byrne, missing since attending the SnowGlobe Music Festival and last seen by friends late New Year's Eve night or in Stateline early Jan. 1, was found this morning, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office reports.
Byrne, 19, was found at 8:30 a.m. just outside the city limits of South Lake Tahoe. A utility worker discovered the remains just off Pioneer Trail, between Black Bart and Al Tahoe. The location is approximately one mile west of the Snow Globe Music Festival, authorities said.
Byrne's body was just off the roadway, but obstructed from view by a snow bank. The on-scene investigation continues and is being led by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
Lake Tahoe News reports the body was found fully clothed and that foul play was not involved.
