Laure Penny hired as new Douglas County Clerk to the Board

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners have a new clerk after Laure Penny was hired to replace the retired Lorraine Kabat.
Penny, who began work Monday, was most recently was a paralegal for Nevada Attorney for Injured Workers with prior employment as a Supreme Court Clerk and legal secretary.
“Douglas County is one of my favorite places to be and I am very excited to be able to work for and serve the wonderful people who live here,” said Penny.
The commission clerk prepares the agenda and minutes for the Board of Commissioners meetings, maintains permanent County records, and serves the public, other elected officials and County departments.
Penny holds an Advanced Legal Research and Writing for Paralegal Studies degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.
“Laure has a strong background serving as a clerk in the court system and comes highly recommended,” said County Manager Jim Nichols. “She will be a valuable addition to our staff and aid in the transition with the new Clerk Treasurer.”
