El Dorado County to hold special meeting for vacation home rentals

There will be a special meeting of the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors to discuss vacation home rentals (VHRs) in South Lake Tahoe at 6:00 p.m. on February 1 at the City Council chambers.

Supervisor Sue Novasel said she believes a meeting about the South Shore should be held on the South Shore so more of the citizens could attend and participate.

The hot topic of VHRs has divided many neighbors with opinions on both side of the issue.

This special meeting will be held in addition to a Board of Supervisor time sensitive agenda item during their regular meeting in Placerville on January 9. They will vote on a conceptual urgency ordinance to stop permits from being issued until an ordinance can be developed.
