SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Students receiving weekly food bags from Bread & Broth 4 Kids will be able to pick them up at normal locations on Friday this week, due to the pending blizzard.
Buses from Lake Tahoe Unified School District normally distribute the bags to students with the breakfasts and lunches on Wednesdays, but with the possibility of a snow day and heavy snow, Bread & Broth moved to Friday for safety concerns.
Bags will also be available on Friday at the three school locations that serve the to-go breakfasts and lunches - Tahoe Valley Elementary, Bijou Elementary and South Tahoe Middle School. Should there be another snow day on Friday, this will be rescheduled and a notice placed in South Tahoe Now.
When schools resume on Monday under a hybrid schedule, bags will be available on the scheduled buses on Wednesdays. The schedule will be subject to change due to snow days and a move to the next reopening phase, a full in-person class schedule.
