Ponderosa High School coach arrested for inappropriate relations with students

The Ponderosa High School water polo coach was arrested by the El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies on Tuesday, January 26 on charges of sex with a minor with the intent of committing sexual acts and possession of child pornography.
Shane O’Rourke, 22, was arrested after the school's resource office obtained information that a coach at the school was possibly involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student. An investigation conducted with EDSO investigators determined O'Rourke had two inappropriate sexual relations with students.
O'Rourke, a coach at the Shingle Springs high school for two years lives in El Dorado Hills. He was formerly the coach at El Dorado Hills High School.
This is an active investigation and so far two female victims have been identified. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office anticipates there are more victims and we are asking that any other potential victims contact our Detectives at the following numbers: Detective Prencipe (530) 642-4709, Detective Parker (530) 642-4711.
In October, two students at Ponderosa High School were arrested for filming a sex act and sharing it.
