Areas of South Lake Tahoe experiencing power outage

6:45 p.m. update - The remaining 131 El Dorado County customers without power should expect it to be restored by midnight at the latest according to the Liberty Utilities outage website.

5:20 p.m. update - Power has been restored to almost all of the Liberty Utility customers. At this time just 136 remain without electricity.

4:20 p.m. update - Lineman are on their way to the Meyers and Christmas Valley area to determine the cause of the power outage, but early reports say wires are down. Once they access the situation they'll be able to give an approximate time of restoring power.
Kathy Carter of Liberty Utilities confirmed there are 3,438 customers without power.

As of 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, over 3,400 Liberty Utilities customers in El Dorado County are without power, many of them in the Christmas Valley and Meyers area.
At this time the cause has not been determined and restoration time in unknown.
