SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Emerging young Van Goghs and Picassos were on display this week at the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT). Parents, family, and friends toured the displays Thursday afternoon.
The club's Art Director Gina Stowell has been working with the students in several mediums including pastels and charcoal, watercolor tempura, monochromatic, printmaking, acrylics, mixed media collages, and multi-colored drawings. All were hung around the room for the art show as was a special blacklight "Glow Gallery."
The artists on display were ages 6-15.
Once the artwork was completed, two judges were brought in to make the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for each age group. Annie Davidson and STMS teacher Brian Principato.
There are currently 350 active members of the BGCLT. The after-school and summer programs include art both at the main campus and at Bijou Elementary.
