Barton expands walk-in orthopedic care services in South Lake Tahoe and Carson City

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Barton Health is expanding its orthopedic medical services, offering same-day care to address a variety of musculoskeletal injuries with no appointment necessary. Walk-in orthopedic care is now available at the Barton Center for Orthopedics & Wellness in South Lake Tahoe, Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and at the same time on Tuesday and Wednesday at Barton’s Tahoe Orthopedics & Sports Medicine office, located at 935 Mica Drive in Carson City.

The new walk-in care model offered by Barton allows patients to bypass a trip to the Emergency Department in the event of an injury, and meet with an orthopedic expert that day to address bone, joint and sports injuries. Treatments include x-rays, splinting, bracing, joint injections, and other care for non-emergency, urgent orthopedic injuries.

“We continue to build upon Barton’s tradition of excellence in orthopedic care, and help our community enjoy their favorite activities,” said Matthew Slater, DHA, LVN, Barton Health Director of Clinical Services.

Walk-in orthopedic care is another option for patients to address injury and get the medical services they need, when they need it. Orthopedic care is provided by Barton Health in a variety of clinical settings, from around-the-clock care at Barton’s Emergency Department and Level III Trauma Center, to appointment-based and walk-in services at Barton Urgent Care, and medical support at ski clinics located at all ski resorts in the South Lake Tahoe area.
