V-Day South Lake Tahoe presents a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s "The Vagina Monologues" on February 28 and March 1 at the Blue Angel Cafe. This two night event will raise funds for four South Lake Tahoe non-profits: Live Violence Free, Tahoe Youth & Family Services, Zawadisha and Child Advocates of El Dorado County.
V-Day is a global activist movement to stop violence against women and girls. The Vagina Monologues are made up of a varying number of monologues read by a varying number of women, based on the feminine experience including sex, love, rape and birth. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.
Tickets are available at Live Violence Free, located at 2941 Lake Tahoe Blvd or by calling 530-544-2118. The show starts at 7 p.m. each night.
