El Dorado County Supervisor Sue Novasel will hold a town hall meeting on Wednesday, February 28 at the Lake Tahoe Environmental Science Magnet School from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to discuss solutions to traffic issues in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
Novasel will be joined by County Department of Transportation staff, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office and County Counsel.
Outgoing traffic from South Lake Tahoe towards Placerville has become a major issue on Sundays and holidays as visitors try to head home. If Highway 50 is slow moving, motorists try and find side routes through neighborhoods to circumvent the traffic, only to add headaches and frustration to locals and other travelers.
Many times those going on neighborhood streets speed, run stop signs or get stuck in snow.
The school is located at 1095 E. San Bernardino Ave., in Meyers.
