The body of one of two men whose canoe capsized Friday in choppy water on Donner Lake was found Saturday morning. The search for the second man continued but was suspended Saturday evening, Truckee police said.
Dive teams are scheduled to return Sunday morning to continue the search, Truckee police said.
Searchers, assisted by California Highway Patrol Air Operations, found the body near shore in approximately 15 feet of water near where the canoe capsized, Truckee police reported. The name of the found boater was not released pending notification of next of kin by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Division. Heavy winds and cloud cover Saturday made search conditions difficult, Truckee police officials said.
