South Lake Tahoe man, John Carleton, identified as pedestrian killed in Feb. 22 collision

South Lake Tahoe police have identified the man killed in a Friday, Feb. 22 pedestrian crash on Lake Tahoe Boulevard as John Carleton, 51, of South Lake Tahoe.
On Feb. 22, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the South Lake Tahoe Police Department responded to the fatal traffic collision on Lake Tahoe Boulevard in front Taco Bell at 2681 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Carleton was pronounced dead at Barton Memorial Hospital. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and pending autopsy results, said South Lake Tahoe Police Sgt. Shannon Laney.
Gregory Stearns, 49, was arrested and faces a DUI charge that involved death and driving under a suspended license for a previous DUI where he was convicted.
